Greg & Hunter vs. Dakota & Dylan debate #1
Should the drinking age be lowered to 18?

Affirmative:
Legally an adult.
Can be in military and fight for your country.
Make own decisions about other serious things.
Can suffer real consequences when commit a crime, or break the law.
Kids are in college at age 18, they drink anyway, why not make it legal?

Negative:
More at risk for kidney failure.
Your brain isn't fully developed at the age of 18.
Going to the military is your choice.
It has saved many lives because the legal age is 21.

Crossfire:
It can cause the same consequences no matter what your age.
It's a choice to drink either if you're 18 or 21.
More people choose to drink at age 18 because drinking may be sporadic, rather than being able to get alcohol whenever they can.

Negative Revival:
It has saved many lives with the drinking age being 21.

Affirmative Revival:
Drinking is a choice, whether you are 18 or 21. You are a legal adult in everything else's eyes, you should be able to drink.

Negative Closing:
It is too risky for everyone's sake. At the age of 18 most kids are still in high school so it would cause too many problems.

Affirmative Closing:
Most of the alcohol will be out of your system by the time of school. Kids are going to drink whether they are underage or not, why not lower it to make it less of a habit because alcohol will always be an option.
