1.) I don't think it would have had a similar outcome in the US because the case would not have been taken that far. I don't think our court system would even listen to the fathers side for any other reason than humor.
2.)  I think that this father is selfish and mean for suing the mother of his child just because he thought the baby was too ugly. He should have known about the surgery, I'll give him that, but he should love them for more than just their looks.
